Gratitude for my Friends

Over the weekend I received an email from a friend I haven't talked to in a while. It was nice to hear from him and learn he is doing fine.

Today, I want to express my gratitude to my friends.

To Shelly: Thank you for your passion and spirit. You always elevate my mood to new heights whenever we meet.

To Brooks: Thanks for reaching out and connecting with me. It has been a while and I cherish our friendship.

To Kimberly: You are one of my dearest friends and I thank you for your friendship.

Friendships, like any relationship need cultivation and care. Although, some of our friends aren't around around each day, expressing gratitude for them will reach them, whether you believe this or not.

As an exercise, reconnect with some past friends you haven't been in touch with for a while. Tell them how much they mean to you. If they aren't available, write them a letter, without sending it to them, thanking them for their contributions to your life. You'll be amazed at the affect this has on you and them.

Until next time. Be well.

With Gratitude,

Dave

Welcome to Daily Words of Gratitude

All,

If you're here reading this post, I am very grateful for your visit. This blog is all about the power of Gratitude and how it can change your life!

I'll be posting once a week, with personal tips to invoke the power of gratitude and I look forward to your comments. If you are curious about The Token of Gratitude, you can get one of your own at: http://www.tokensofgratitude.com/. I designed this coin, with my brother, to act as a reminder to whoever carries it to be grateful for the things in their lives.

As I begin this adventure with you, I'd like to pass on a little about myself. I retired from the US Army in 2005 and have worked in the corporate world for 4 years. In January of this year, I resigned from my last company to start two businesses with my brother, work on a few books, and continue work towards my PhD in Organizational Management.

Throughout my life I have been blessed by those I work with. The number of outstanding leaders, mentors and teachers that I've come across have been an inspiration and have had a dramatic effect on my life. The professors, military leaders, teachers, and colleagues I've come to know are the "salt of the earth" and have been willing to assist me with difficulties, challenges, and celebrate my successes. To all of you--Thank You for your service to me, your country and all of the folks you've inspired to be the very best.

Today I am grateful for my life, my success, and my brother and business partner. Chris, here's to monumental success, as we launch our two businesses this month!!

Feel free to post your own story of gratitude and look out for my posting next week!!!
